Author Guidelines

Submission Overview

All manuscripts must be submitted through the online submission system available on each journal’s webpage.

No more than two authors should act as the corresponding author, responsible for communication during peer review and publication.

Before submission, authors are advised to read the journal’s Aims and Scope to ensure their work fits the focus of the journal.

Chun Cheng Publisher (CCP) welcomes submissions from all countries and disciplines represented in its journals. Each article must present original research or a meaningful review of existing knowledge.

Manuscript Types

Each journal accepts the following categories of articles:

  • Article – full reports of new studies with complete methods and data
  • Review – critical summaries and synthesis of existing studies on a focused topic
  • Short Communication – concise reports of new findings or early observations
  • Perspective or Conceptual Paper – discussions of new ideas or emerging trends
  • Editorial – invited reflections or policy viewpoints

Manuscript Preparation

Authors should prepare manuscripts in clear academic English. The structure should generally follow the IMRAD format:

  • Introduction – explain background, purpose, and significance of the study
  • Methods – describe procedures, materials, and analytical approaches
  • Results – present findings in a logical sequence
  • Discussion – interpret the results, implications, and limitations

For review articles, use logical sections with thematic subheadings instead of IMRAD.

Formatting guidance:

Authors are encouraged to prepare manuscripts carefully according to the following format and structure to ensure smooth peer review and production. Clear, consistent formatting helps maintain the professional quality of every published article. Authors may download the Template to prepare the manuscripts.

Manuscript Length and Structure

The main text should normally be between 4000 and 8000 words, excluding references, tables, and figure legends. The manuscript should follow the standard structure of Title Page, Abstract, Keywords, Main Text, Back Matters, References, and Appendices if applicable. All pages should be numbered consecutively, and continuous line numbering must be activated throughout the document.

Abstract and Keywords

For Original Research Articles, the abstract should not exceed 250 words and must summarize the background, objectives, methods, main results, and conclusions.

For Review Articles, Short Communications, Perspectives, and other article types, a structured or unstructured abstract may be used depending on the nature of the work, provided it remains concise (up to 250 words) and accurately reflects the content of the manuscript. Provide five to eight keywords listed alphabetically and separated by a semicolon.

Figures and Tables

All figures and tables should be cited in the text in numerical order as Figure 1, Figure 2, and so on for figures, and Table 1, Table 2, and so on for tables. Each figure and table must have a clear and concise title followed by a descriptive caption that explains its content without repeating information from the main text, and captions should be placed below figures and above tables.

  • Example of figure caption:

Figure 1. Relationship between intervention duration and patient quality of life scores.

  • Example of table caption:

Table 1. Summary of participant demographic characteristics.

  • Refer to each figure or table directly within the text, for example:

As shown in Figure 2, the treatment group reported higher scores.”
Baseline characteristics are summarized in Table 1.”

All images should be of high resolution (at least 300 dpi) and submitted in common image formats such as JPEG, TIFF, or PNG. Authors should ensure that all text, symbols, and legends in figures are clear, legible, and consistent in font style and size across the manuscript.

Text Formatting

Manuscripts should be prepared in Microsoft Word (.docx) format using Times New Roman, 11-point font size, and 1.2 line spacing throughout. Every page should include page numbers and continuous line numbering to assist reviewers in referring to specific portions of the manuscript. Authors are encouraged to maintain a clean, consistent, and professional layout without unnecessary formatting or colour changes.

Headings and subheadings must be numbered consecutively to provide a clear and logical flow. Main sections should follow a sequential numbering pattern, such as 1. Introduction, 2. Materials and methods, 3. Results, 4. Discussion, and 5. Conclusion (or equivalent as appropriate to the paper type). Subheadings should continue in the same pattern using double numbering, for example, 1.1. Background, 1.2. Objectives, 2.1. Participants, 2.2. Data Collection, and 2.3. Analysis. First three-level headings should appear in bold, while the fourth-level headings (not recommended) are written in italics. Each section begins on a new line but not necessarily on a new page.

To ensure uniform presentation and easy readability, the following conventions should be observed:

  • Keep 1.2 line spacing throughout the entire text, including headings and references.
  • Use italics for scientific names, Latin terms, variables, or statistical symbols.
  • Avoid underlining except where necessary.
  • Define all abbreviations or acronyms in full when they first appear.
  • Write numbers below ten in words unless attached to a unit, measurement, or percentage (for example, “five samples” but “5 mg” or “5%”).
  • Express all measurements using the International System of Units (SI).

Reference List Format

References should be cited in the order they appear in the text using Arabic numerals in square brackets, such as [1], [2], or [3–5].
Each cited reference must correspond exactly to an entry in the reference list at the end of the manuscript.

Examples of Citation Within Text

  • Single reference:

Previous studies have shown significant improvement in survival rates among patients receiving early intervention [1].

  • Multiple separate citations:

Several researchers have reported similar outcomes under different study conditions [2,3,7].

  • Consecutive references (range):

This pattern has been observed in multiple clinical investigations [4–6].

  • Repeated reference later in the text:

The results confirmed those described by Tan et al. [1].

Ensure that author names, publication years, journal titles, volume, issue, and page numbers are accurate and complete. Include the Digital Object Identifier (DOI) whenever available. Below are examples of the correct reference style for different source types:
