For Editors
Editorial Mission
Editors at Chun Cheng Publisher (CCP) play a central role in upholding the quality, credibility, and reputation of our journals. The editorial mission is to guide each journal toward excellence in scientific rigour, ethical integrity, and meaningful contribution to society. Editors act as guardians of academic standards and ambassadors of open, responsible publishing.
Editorial Structure
Each CCP journal operates under a structured editorial team composed of:
- Editor in Chief – provides overall leadership, ensures scientific and ethical standards, and makes final publication decisions.
- Associate Editors – manage submissions in their area of expertise and oversee the peer review process.
- Editorial Board Members – support the journal’s development, promote submissions, and assist in reviews or special issues.
- Advisory Board Members – provide strategic guidance, help shape the journal's direction, and strengthen its global visibility.
The structure ensures diversity of expertise, geography, and gender representation across the editorial board.
Responsibilities of Editors
Editors are expected to:
- Uphold fairness, independence, and confidentiality in all editorial decisions.
- Evaluate submissions only on academic quality and relevance to the journal’s aims and scope.
- Assign qualified and independent reviewers for each manuscript.
- Oversee the peer review process to ensure timely and constructive feedback.
- Provide clear editorial decisions and guidance to authors.
- Detect and address ethical issues, including plagiarism or data irregularities.
- Maintain communication with reviewers and authors in a professional and respectful manner.
- Encourage innovation, interdisciplinary collaboration, and international participation.
Editorial Decision Process
Editors must base their decisions solely on scholarly merit. All manuscripts undergo a double-blind peer review unless stated otherwise. Editorial decisions (Accept Submission, Revisions Required, Resubmit for Review, Resubmit Elsewhere, or Decline Submission) must reflect the reviewers’ assessments and the editor’s independent judgment.
Editors should document the reasoning behind each decision and ensure that authors receive constructive feedback.
Ethical Responsibilities
Editors share the same commitment to publication ethics as authors and reviewers. They must:
- Avoid handling manuscripts where any conflict of interest exists.
- Refrain from using unpublished data or ideas for personal advantage.
- Treat all correspondence, submissions, and reviews as confidential.
- Promote ethical research practices and transparency.
- Act promptly on ethical concerns raised by reviewers, readers, or other editors.
If misconduct is suspected, editors must consult the Editor-in-Chief and follow the publisher’s policy and COPE guidelines (https://publicationethics.org/).
Conflict of Interest
Editors must declare any relationship or situation that could influence their impartiality. They should not handle manuscripts from colleagues at their own institution, collaborators, or anyone with whom they have financial or personal ties. If a conflict exists, the manuscript will be reassigned to another editor to maintain neutrality.
Handling of Special Issues and Thematic Collections
Editors may propose or manage special issues focusing on emerging topics.
Each special issue must maintain the same standards of peer review and ethical evaluation as regular submissions. Guest editors are responsible for inviting contributions, coordinating reviews, and ensuring balanced representation of viewpoints. All proposals for special issues should be approved by the Editor-in-Chief and the publisher before announcement.
Editorial Meetings and Communication
Editorial board meetings may be conducted virtually or in person to review journal progress, discuss new directions, and evaluate performance. Editors are encouraged to communicate regularly with the editorial office regarding policies, reviewer performance, and journal improvement.
Editorial Independence and Accountability
CCP fully respects the independence of its editorial boards. Editors have complete authority over editorial decisions within the boundaries of ethical and scientific responsibility. In return, editors are accountable for the overall quality, accuracy, and impact of the journal’s published content.
Appointment and Term
Editors are appointed based on academic expertise, publication record, and professional integrity. Appointments are typically for a period of three years, renewable upon mutual agreement and performance evaluation. During the term, editors are expected to remain active contributors to the academic community and to represent the journal in relevant conferences, networks, and collaborations.
Recognition and Support
CCP recognizes the contribution of editors as key leaders in advancing scholarly communication. Editors receive:
- Certificates of editorial service.
- Official listing on the journal website and publisher platform.
- Opportunities to lead special issues and editorial initiatives.
- Access to professional development and policy updates from the publisher.
